plainspeak.ca is a non-profit organization. We are dedicated to turning law, science and public policy into something that is understandable and usable. Our goal is to support informed decision- making, public debate, mutual aid, advocacy and a sense of community. For these purposes: We convert technical scientific data and research reports, dense legal agreements, complex public issues, confusing procedures and more. We host meetings, organize interactive media and make plainspeak available on radio, audio, print, posters, guides, websites and social media. We start by working with a community: where do people now get their information; what do they read, watch or use to become informed? From their answers, we develop and share ideas about how to make a project work well. We use any and all media, depending on the budget and the wishes of the community.
